Sheldon Rosengarten

In the real estate business for over 40 years...and designated a Realtor Emeritus due to the length of service in the Realtor community.

Broker with Marx-Bensdorf, Realtors, which was founded in 1868 and is Memphis' oldest real estate company. It is a full service Real Estate Sales firm and we also offer Global Relocation Services. ​

Specializing in the marketing of residential properties and the representation of Buyers in their acquisition of homes, Sheldon formerly founded and managed Century 21 Alliance Realty as Principal Broker when it opened in 1981 as an affiliate of National Mortgage Company... the nation's second largest privately-owned mortgage banking company. 

 

Married to Shelli for 45 years and have one darling daughter, Anna. A graduate of the University of Maryland (Phi Beta Kappa), in 2004, she was honored by being named Outstanding Sophomore Leader of the Year for the University. She lives in Gaithersburg, Maryland and is Vice President, Human Resources with CommunicateHealth in Rockville, Maryland. Her husband, David is a CPA and Manager, Enterprise Data Strategy & Governance at Freddie Mac in Washington, D.C. They have a darling daughter, Adina Rose, 6, who is brilliant.

Since 1985, a life member of the Multi-Million Dollar Club of the Memphis Area Association of Realtors... Sheldon served on numerous committees at MAAR over the years, including Grievance, Transactions (Vice-Chairman), Sales Management (Chairman), Realtors Political Action Committee, Televised MLS, and Director-Sponsor of "Home for Sale" magazine. Served two-year term as First Vice-President of the 2700 member Memphis Area Association of Realtors. Currently serving on the Professional Standards Advisory Task Force, which answers and assists real estate agents and the public with any questions or complaints. 

​Attended University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Graduate, Memphis State University (B.A. Political Science). Extensive work and certification in real estate from Memphis State Fogelman College of Business and Economics. With Shelli, they founded the Jerome Rosengarten Memorial Scholarship at the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. Sheldon served on numerous committees in Germantown, including Charter Study, which re-wrote the city's new charter.
